About NewGen Books
Who are you?
My name is Luke Wood, and NewGen Books started in 2006 as one big experiment: I wanted to see just how cheaply I could sell Christian books and CDs. Being a full-time student at the time, I didn't have piles of cash to pump into starting a brand new business. So I started small, enlisted the help of some friends, and two years later we are still here, still growing and with plans for future growth!
Is this your main job?
It certainly could be! At the moment I divide my time between NewGen Books, employment at a Newfrontiers church plant in central Southampton, and a firm of Structural Engineers.
Are you a profit-making organisation?
We do make money. One of my aims in starting NewGen Books was to release workers into the kingdom of God. So any money we make after we have covered our costs goes towards supporting young men and women to work for local churches.
Where are you based?
Southampton, UK.
Do you have a shop I can come and visit?
There is nothing quite like browsing a good bookshop. However, we only sell products online. This allows us to keep our prices down.
Discounts
Why do you give special discounts to churches?
One of our key values is supporting the work of UK churches. Also, many churches will buy hundreds of books in any given year. For these two reasons, we extend special rates to UK churches with the aim of helping to enable them to fulfill their God-given calling.
